As many of you already know, our very first mentor was James Martell. His ebook, way back in 2003 was what set us on this path of making a living online. So it is with much sadness that we have to share the news that he died this week after suffering a brain aneurysm.
This was very much a shock to us as you can expect. He was still young and had a lot of life in him yet. In some ways, I was hoping for a miracle as although Arlene (James’ wife) said they were taking him off life support, I still felt that there was some hope left – a lot of people come through after being taken off life support – but alas, that wasn’t to be.
We first found out about James back in 2003 when we purchased his ebook on how to make money as an affiliate. Back then, although we were able to download the ebook, he also sent us a hard copy all the way from Canada with his autograph in it. We still have that ebook. It was amazing as it had every little step you needed.
We also took a few of his online courses as well, which were always excellent. He always overdelivered in the information he provided and was so helpful to us as we struggled to get going, always cheerfully answering the multiple emails we sent through to him. He was helpful guy and wanted to see us succeed.
We had met James a couple of times at affiliate functions and had lunch with him and his family in Canada when we visited Vancouver for the Stargate Convention. He, Arlene, Adam and their daughter drove up from White Rock to meet with us. And Wanda would chat to him on Facebook quite a bit sharing fun facts about their grandchildren.
James was a big personality, with a great smile and genuine interest in people. He helped many, many people launch successfully into the world of affiliate marketing.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his lovely wife, Arlene and their family.
It was an honor and a privilege to know you James. RIP.
I am so sad! I loved James. I never met him in person but we were Facebook friends and chatted a few times. He’s what opened my eyes that you could actually make money online.
Yes, very sad, I still find it hard to believe he is gone actually.
Life is too short. Bad things always happen to good people, only God knows why.
No one can describe the grief of losing someone we love. Very hard to belief that he is gone.
So Sad :(
may his soul rest in peace
