As you can probably tell (if you are a regular visitor), we have just updated the design on this blog. We are still using the Flexsqueeze theme but we downloaded one of the skins in the Flexsqueeze member area to try out something new.
The skin we chose was the Plain Jane skin which is based around the Thesis theme. It’s a very plain skin but with Flexsqueeze you can change just about anything so we added a header and changed some of the main theme colors and fonts.
We are still in the process of making changes so you may see some anomalies over the next couple of days or so.
We have been using the same design for some time now so it was definitely time for an update.

Looks good. The theme is very easy on the eyes. No distractions.
We’ve always been ones for minimalism with our sites. So yes, the less distractions the better.
Nice, clean design…I especially like the changes to the inner pages. I am definitely seeing some things I’ll use on my sites!
We still need to tidy up some of those inner pages…not the blog inner pages, but the other main pages. It’s a bit like having a spring clean when a new theme goes up. It also gets rid of the clutter which is always a good thing.

Well done, I think the new design looks really clean and fresh. I also prefer a sans serif type face on a webpage rather than a serif face as it looks easier to read.
Overall I think it looks really good. Amazing what a few small changes can do.
I definitely agree with the sans serif font being easier to read. I’ve always liked Verdana for that plus it just looks good on a page of content.
Loving the new theme. Think it shows your flexibility no pun intended…

I knew there was something different! I like the new look. Clean and uncluttered.
That’s what we wer going for Hamish. The uncluttered look is always the best look for any website.

Thanks Dean. It looks like most people like it. Of course we are never going to please everyone but most people like the cleaner look.
The new look is amazing. I never saw the older look as I just discovered your blog. You have to update your look seldomly to have something different to look at.
