I just noticed that Google has given us a little New Year surprise with the update of their pagerank. We have done quite well out of it with a good majority of our blogs moving up in the ranks. This blog went from a 1 to a 2…can’t really expect much more than that since I am still yet to promote it in a big way.
Some of the blogs we haven’t been working on at all have gone up to pageranks of 3 and 4….go figure! And most of the ones we are working on remained static. I don’t get it anymore and have given up trying. Pagerank really doesn’t reflect a websites worth like it once did. It really is more of a gauge to get a basic idea of how a website is going…but it’s still a bit of fun to see the changes.

I got a few of my brand new blogs a PR2, but StandOutBlogger.com is still a 3. I don;t bother trying to get PR either, because it is always the ones I do less on that do best.

That seems to be the way with Google pagerank these days. I personally think it’s time they retired the thing… I think we would all be better off without that little green bar.
I just missed out with my new blog this time but the one i sild 4 days ago when it was pr1 is now pr3.

that’s correct, it’s already updated yesterday within our main website when google change PRs, but it’s not confirmed as far as we know
Well I guess we don’t really need confirmation from Google. It seems most people have seen changes to their websites.

None of my blogs went up or down, my brother has a blog that has not been updated by him in a year and that went from PR1 to PR3!

Well it looks like ‘slow and stable’ is how this blog is going with pagerank.
Well, I had a Page Rank of 0 before the January update, but after the update I now have a Page Ranke of 2.

I am just really happy that after 3 months my blog is now PR1. This is a first big step for me. At least it is not 0.

I know the feeling. It’s always good to finally get that first page rank even if it is a 1.
Sad to say i didn’t see a change in our page rank. Rather disappointed.

That’s pretty good Brad. Although page rank doesn’t mean much anymore it still looks better having some sort of page rank than nothing at all.
I just noticed that we went from 3 to ‘unable to page rank’. What the heck does that mean? We are No.3 of 1,600,000 for the keyword phrase ‘women’s tennis apparel’. I’m beginning to think this page rank thing is meaningless.

I see a pagerank of 3 on your site Cheri. Sometimes the Google toolbar plays up. I have noticed that a lot lately.
I’ve noticed one interesting thing that I don’t see many people reporting is that a lot of directories and other similar websites use some form of little pagerank indicator next to listings, and in some cases sort their listings automatically by pagerank.
What I have noticed the last few days is that these sites seem to now show only N/A next to everyone. Perhaps google changed whatever part of their API people utilise, to basically stop this sort useage of their information.

Wassup went from 4 to 3 but I ain’t fussed as I’ve never really worried about PR ever since I decided it was a waste of time trying to work out Googles ever changing algorithm.

I know what you mean. It’s a bit of a waste of energy trying to keep up with Google.
My page rank went down from a 4 to a 3 and I don’t know why. My Alexa ranking has been going up. Not sure why Google PR went down.
In the latest update a couple of our sites went down as well. Nobody really knows what Google is up to when it comes to page rank and it’s not really worth worrying about.
