Well it’s certainly been an absolutely amazing week. We are so glad that our ‘Amazonian Profit Plan’ ebook has finally been released, and the response has been quite overwhelming, which makes all the time and effort to get it finished, well worthwhile.
A great big thank you to everyone who provided such wonderful feedback. We are still getting through the questions so don’t be concerned if you haven’t had a response, you will be hearing from us fairly soon.
It’s also nice to finally get some time back for our business. For those that have read the ebook, you will know that we focus on five product reviews at a time and we had developed another five a couple of months ago. The only problem was that we didn’t have much time to focus on them as we were spending most of our time on the ebook. So we will be starting back on those in the next couple of weeks as things quieten down a little.
We will also be getting back to our regular posts so you will see the first of those in the next day or so…Wanda is working on a blog post as we speak.
And finally for those that have been asking about an affiliate program for the ebook, it is ready to go, and here is – the Affiliate Program Link.
We still haven’t had a chance to get any banners created as yet, so there are only text links available for the moment. However, those of you who are regular readers to our blog will be aware that we tend to find that text links work way better than widgets or banner ads.
If you have any questions about the Affiliate Program please contact us here.
The eBook is excellent & provided valuable direction/information that I hadn’t found elsewhere. Great job!
Thank you Tammie. We certainly worked hard to make sure it was informative and easy to follow. Best of luck.
Already have 3 of my 5 product posts up. Two more to go. After that I’m ready for the next steps in your ebook. Very excited! Thank you again for providing such detail. Once you get into the swing of writing a good review, it really is fairly simple. It’s basically the stuff I would want to know if I was reading a review. The hardest part at this point is keeping myself from going back and working on the post to “perfect it”. I know I’ll have time for that later. Take care.
Stephanie
Way to go Stephanie. I had a chuckle at your comment on wanting to keep going back to ‘perfect’ the review. We are all guilty of that. I find that over time I tend go back and revisit the reviews and do some tweaking if I think its required, sometimes a just word, sometimes a phrase, other times its best to leave things alone and just move onto the next 5 products.
Your e-book sounds wonderful, I’ve only been in the war room for an hour or so and just sent away for some articles and now I’m very curious about your e-book. I use amazon and no big killings about 96 products sold since Feb, so nothing great, they need to up the ante on percent of sales though. Thanks for this.
Most people think that Amazon only pays 4% commission which is why many affiliates don’t use them. However, Amazon does pay up to 8.5% – it just depends on how many products you sell in a month.
Paula,
Oh I am aware that the percentage can go up to 8% but I’ve only gotten up to 6.5% so far. Thanks! :) I was just noting the low percentage that you start with which we all know is ewe!
I will have to try your system. All finished reading it, now I need to go do something with it, I have a pending website that is a kiosk site, however, amazon doesn’t carry it, so I’ll make it an affiliate site then move on.
You have mastered one of the processes that stops many people in their tracks. They may recognize that the site isn’t going to meet the criteria but continue to tinker away with it instead of moving on. Well done.
I had a chance to read your e-book last night and wow, it is excellent. I love how you write your reviews. You make it look so easy. I can definitely see why you do so well in sales.
Looking forward to following your steps and getting into the Amazon action.
Thanks for a great guide!
Rhonda
Glad you like it Rhonda. The review is such an important part of this process so getting that right is key. So I’m glad that we’ve made it look easy to do.
Rhonda,
I agree, they do make it look easy, but I think we can all do this. I was an excellent writer in high school and beyond, but the last 4 years in my job, nothing, and you know what they say, if you don’t use it, you lose it! Makes me nuts! I am going to just do it, as Nike’ says! Good luck to you!
You’ve put together a very good product! Congratulations. We’ve had the opportunity to review it, and have place the review on our site.
The formula that you provide is common sense, however to the uniniated who may go in circles a few times before finding it – your book will get them to the finish line faster and with much less aggravation.
We use a slighly different technique but have started to incorporate your process into ours. We’ll see how the hybrid works after a few months.
Thanks Robert – nice review. It made me laugh reading about the sales page but it is so true.
Hi,
I read your ebook recently and it’s very well done. I certainly picked up a few tips and will be seeing if I can’t improve my sales!
You might want to rewrite the product review example though. Talking about the number of volts in an appliance makes no sense, and damages the credibility of the review (and, albeit to a small extent, by extension your ebook).
Overall, though, it was a great read!
Glad you like the ebook Craig and hope it improves your sales.
I’m not sure I agree about the ‘volts’ however. If you look at any page on the net that talks about what to look for when buying a cordless drill, just about all of them talk about the volts. It is an important aspect of buying a cordless drill.
But regardless of that, the review in the ebook is simply an example of how to write and structure a review that will convert.
Sorry, I should have been clearer. The voltage is certainly important when it comes to choosing a drill, it’s just that the way it’s phrased in the review is incorrect.
Voltage is a measurement of potential difference. Water in a hose pipe is often used as an analogy: the pressure difference between the two ends of the hose determine how fast the water will flow. The pressure difference is analagous to the electrical voltage, and the speed of flow is analagous to the electrical current.
So you can’t say that an appliance ‘has more volts’ than another, merely that the voltage is higher.
It is only a small quibble – I can be a little pedantic at times! – but in an actual review it could easily affect conversions from more technically literate buyers (and I imagine many buyers of cordless drills are somewhat knowledgeable about electrics and appliances in general).
An excellent book, though. Thanks for writing it!
Oh okay, that makes sense now. I see what you mean. Thanks for the clarification.
Hello Paula and Wanda, I love your website and you both are an inspiration to me. I checked out a few of your posts and I was astonished of how much money you made with Amazon in a single month. I went ahead and signed up with the affiliate program to include the links in a few of my posts. I have been using the text links within my posts and I am seeing an increase in my clicks, so I know for a fact that works..
Excellent Jennifer – let’s hope you start seeing some sales as well.
I’ve put up several reviews and am now in the process of building links for them.
One thing that I am staggered at is how many folk are joining ExpressionEngine forums simply to put up a profile with a link back to their site. You can see that the person has never returned to the forum after that initial visit.
I’m guessing that these links would be all but worthless. Am I right? It seems a bit of a sleazy path to go down – but I could be wrong! I just figure that anything that easy to do and so very obvious would be noticed by Google and given little merit.
Anyone have a view on this?
These links aren’t necessarily worthless. They can result in a good backlink depending on the forum. We tried this for a while but it just didn’t sit well with us. It’s just kind of spammy so we don’t do it anymore.
For anyone that is using your system on a self hosted WordPress blog – you can make your main review a “sticky” post so that it will always appear at the top of your blog. Other supporting posts you add will all slot in below it. Gives a similar effect to making it a page.
This means that when you leave your basic dot com url it will take people to the post you most want them to read.
I’m always a little worried that when I comment on a blog and asked for website url that if I leave an url to a specific page it might look a bit spammy. But if your most important post is made “sticky” then you can build a little site with 8 or 10 posts but the site url will take people to the most important post – the one with your Amazonian review.
Hope this helps others.
Excellent Dawn. That’s a great tip! I know Wanda is doing that with some of our blogs.
